What do you mean, he was suicidal?

He was probably having you on; he's a bit too dim to be suicidal for real, no?

And even if he was serious ... that's just one less redneck cracker that won't be reproducing.

Where's the downside? :?

Maybe, maybe... but when someone contacts me personally and asks to talk about things like that I pay a little more attention than someone who announces their pending suicide on a forum.

Even if somone is a rednecked idiot, I'd still rather see them go in any other way.

Suicide is just so selfish.

So is contacting and involving you.

But then again, if he wasn't inappropriate he wouldn't be Sloey, right? ;)

(What's really selfish is bungling the attempt and leaving loved ones with a vegetable they have to care for until it dies or they find the courage to pull the plug.)

It seemed to help for a while, he calmed down a little bit. I kinda remember being a teenager so it didn't bother me.

Someone else was a friend of Sloey.
Good on ya mate.

Sloey was nuts, but he was well read and originally had some curiosity for Dune. I traded some e-mails with him about Dune issues and he was a perfectly behaved boy then. He was always an ass on the board, then he discovered women and hate-speech sites. He just was not right in the head too often after that.

His water belongs to Omph. It's for him to decide.

I think GP and Bryan are gone for good. GP seemed to get really upset with weird things, and was pretty bent out of shape that we felt this place was meant for discussing Dune. Bryan probably decided to quit forums and concentrate on RL and stop saying things on the internet that might come back to haunt him should he ever be elected.

Bryan's sassy and doing fine; exchanged some Wall posts with him on Facebook the other day. (On my Wall, since he's controlling access to his own!) :)

I've tried contacting GP through his Macross site, but have gotten no response. :(

That was extremely weird considering I'm the one who founded the place and told him that was it's primary purpose.

I hope he is OK, but he was fickle sometimes. Is he updating the Macross site?

We've got two pages of inactive members. I was thinking of sending out a mass email.

ya'probalby should. Ill bet a lot of them are lurkers. We seem to have a ton who like reading but dont want to go active. I say that's fine by me, and would hate to delete anybody who prefers to lurk.

Fine by me, too. That would be the gist of the email; "Let me know if you want to lurk, otherwise the account will be deleted by a certain date." Something like that.

True, he was a fine source of insight and a likeable chap all round. btw what's the point of deleting members accounts?

Yeah ... I'm not sure I get that, either.

And how are you determining "inactivity"? (Admin panel feature? Number of posts? ???)

There are only 6 pages of members. It's not like there are tons and they're using a lot of disk space, is it?

Ive looked at a lot of them. Some seem spammy. Not all, I guess, but some look like they need to go away.
