Post Your FH Collection

I received a copy of Without Me You're Nothing on Saturday, I also got a copy of Soul Catcher: That means I now have all of FH's novels, which is a bit of a milestone (although I still have a fair bit reading (and re-reading) to get done :P)

You've got a lot of the same printings as me. All my shit's in boxes, I'll sit this one out. It's getting to the point that it's easier to re-buy them secondhand than find them.

Very nice, Fish. Top marks.

Mine's easy, so I won't bother with a photo: first three Dune books, Dune Encyclopedia, Illustrated Dune, White Plague, Hellstrom's Hive. I've also got two or three more on audio, and I just got The Dragon and the Sea for the Kindle.

Oh, and right below this sentence, I'll post a photo of my entire Kevin J. Anderson collection:

:P That is much better than my KJA collection. (I've still got some second hand (second rate?) reference copies stashed somewhere).

Boys, Boys, Boys.....Is that all that's ever on your minds? :naughty: I thought I taught you better than that. ;)

Fish; your shelf is a lot neater than mine. I admit our books are stuffed in just about as tight as we can get them. But your figure is neat up on the books like that. Thanks for posting the picture.

Lokks like I have many of the same editions as DuneFishUK, hardly surprising, but seeing as how I don't have a camera - I'll list them instead:

Dune - NEL, Oct 83
Dune Messiah - NEL, Apr 84
Children of Dune - NEL, Aug 82
God Emperor of Dune - NEL, May 84
(see inhuien's sig to see how these look, wonderful Bruce Pennington artwork)
Heretics of Dune - NEL, Mar 85
Chapter House Dune - NEL, Mar 86
Destination: Void - Penguin, 67
The Jesus Incident - Orbit, 84
The Lazarus Effect - Orbit, 84
The Ascension Factor - Orbit, 90
Whipping Star - NEL, Jan 72
The Dosadi Experiment - Orbit, 84
The Dragon in the Sea - NEL, 89
The Eyes of Heisenberg - NEL, 87
The Green Brain - NEL, Mar 86
The Santaroga Barrier - NEL, Nov 81
The Heaven Makers - NEL, Jun 70
The Godmakers - NEL, Jul 87
Hellstrom's Hive - Corgi, 82
The White Plague - NEL, Feb 84
The Worlds of Frank Herbert - NEL, May 75
The Best of Frank Herbert 1952-1964 - Sphere, 77
The Best of Frank Herbert 1965-1970 - Sphere, 77
The Priests of Psi - Orbit, 81

The Dune Encyclopedia - Corgi, 84

Not a single U.S. edition there, will have to correct that someday.

I thought the word "figure" pretty much precluded the possibility of jokes without the need for a carefully worded contingency paragraph. But I guess the masses are desperate for some action :)

Very well then!

I still am collecting Dune, working on other language and foregn copies,
as well as different cover art ones, and the magazine versions, and other
dune related things.

Some targets at moment:

1. Red leather hardbound edition of DUNE
2. The sci-fi magazine's serializations of dune/dune messiah
3. get a complete set of hardback original DUNE
4. RP game for dune.

Just love dune:)

For a 1984 toy produced by LJN, it's actually a fairly good replica of the worms in Lynch's film. Not bad. Have you owned it all these years or did you find this figure in a second hand store or on eBay? How much did it cost?

He was an ebay - cheap as chips: only a couple of quid IIRC. :D

Trang: Wow - There are some incredible covers there! Thanks for posting :)

Hmm - your copy of Under Pressure looks 70s? I'm sure the first "Dragon in the Sea" I read was dated 1958... When did it change title?

Not sure but I have seen paperbacks for both (They are the same story I believe) the couple "Dragon in the Sea's" were nearly disintegrated, so didnt bother with. I will continue the hunt though. Ill check the print date on my under pressure and post it here.

Last couple years I feel like Mel Gibsons character in "Conspiracy Theory" where he is compelled to buy a copy of "Catcher in the Rye", every time he gets near a book store. I feel pulled to the used books stores and every time I walk in I have this overwhelmed feeling to search out every single thing Dune in there (not MCDUNE), before I go on to my other passions (Military sci-fi, hard sci-fi, other classic authors, etc). As it stands there are 4 Half price books stores in the greater KC area, and two smaller book stores (occationlly hit those looking for a gem or so, but not often). Im on the List for Library sales for both public libraries, and the community colleges (flyers and such)

Anyway, the HunT continues!!!

yeah trang your collection rules man! so cool. I was a lazy english student who read most all books for free but at the cost of having to return the book... I would love to have a collection as cool as yours.
