Yeah, I just ordered The Jesus Incident, The Lazarus Effect, and The Ascension Factor on eBay. I actually found Destination: Void in a board game store for $1, and since it was in Delaware there was no sales tax. :D

Here are my Dutch Dune and Dune-Lite books. Notice the hideous crime on the cover of Hunters of Dune (Jagers van Duin).
My other Frank Herbert books coming soon....:-)

(Neal Stephenson can be in my picture too, and he gets to sit next to Frank. If I had a sister, he could SO date her, too!)

Hey Lundse. I like the shelves. What kind of wood is that?

Haha - not exactly the type of comment I was expecting... :-)

It's Douglas fir, but we used the wrong lye. As you can see, it had some white dye in it. They are still pretty nice, but I think I would have preferred them in their natural colour. The bark has an interesting stone quality to them, though...

When I first bought it, I thought that was some sort of clever marketing ploy. But a few months later I saw a new copy in the bookstore and they'd corrected it.

No doubt.

Interesting to ponder, though, just what Frank would have thought of KJA. I don't think he would have been that impressed by a guy who literally thinks that quantity equals quality.

I can just see FH shutting the door behind Keith and muttering "fucking poseur" ...

You've got a point, that was a crime as well. There's nothing wrong with art itself, except there are no robot soldiers with machineguns anywhere in the story. I hate that, when they put some random image of a spaceship/robot on the cover of a lot of Sci-Fi novels. It's as if the artist and/or publisher just wasn't interested in the book. Oh well, at least he got the general tone of KJA's story-telling right.
I think the rest of the covers are superb.

My favorite covers are the French pocket book covers. Especially the one for GEoD where Leto is erupting from the body of a worm and casting sandtrout everywhere.

I love this one too:

Yeah, the Japanese covers are awful. Also, Japanese posters of foreign films are typically awful.

I love the covers for the Berkley Trade Paperbacks. Very cool.

(Sorry again about the image quality. I have a brodart cover protecting it, and the reflections are a bitch).

Edited to add: Hey Freak, I embedded these as attachments. Is that okay, or would you prefer links to an external site?

Editedx2 to add: I think the covers for the NEL PB editions of Dune 1-4 are my favourite.

I haven't thought about it much, that's a new feature from phpbb3 I guess.

I say if it's dune related upload it here. Omph, Rag? I can spring for a HDD if need be.

BTW, that cover is AWESOME! I don't think I've ever seen it.
