We dont use that shit much here in US binding. Lately Ive really noticed how much your UK editions are absolute crap. Your publishers still refuse to sew the book in or use archival paper.

Before I realized that I used to think that the US only did three things better than the rest of the world: Plumbing, dental care and robotic warfare. Now I know that we do four things better.

The usage of BBT in paperbacks is absolute, but I'm sure most hardbacks are stitched (I could be wrong). Are your non pulp PBs generally stitched?

Some of them are. None of the mass-market stuff though. But of those that are not mass-market, most are folded, stitched on the inside only, then thick-glued to a paper wrapper.

British hardbacks are mostly glued. They are dangerously fragile books, for the most part, so I only have a few of them.
