Haven't we been doing that already, tho? :(

But at least we currently have a solid chunk of Dune-time to work with that until now has been unmolested. Once these Interquels come out, they're going to twist and bastardize everything FH wrote.

I cant wait for them to put out "re-edited" versions of the original six books, so as to clear up any "mistakes" FH made and to clarify his "dense and hard to understand" prose? Should make all my hardbacks skyrocket in value.

This is a real fear that I've voiced before. I would hope that there would be enough people on the HLP board who would oppose it...but then again, they've been unbelievably complicit with what's happened so far. Fortunately Kevin doesn't have voting rights. So far as we know. (Or are Brian's really Kevin voting by proxy?)

The way they slipped that new material into the paperbacks of Grunters without mention shows that they're not to be trusted. All new editions of the book should be scrutinized, really.

I can't even tell what's a FH mistake/inconsistency and what isn't because it's all so complicated. You guys must just say he's a good writer because even you don't know what he's saying, so he must be smart.

Thank Gawd, KJA is writing Dune for dummies... :P

Maybe KJA will take Byron's idea over and write his Dune for Children (not Children of Dune) books which will then become the new standard for the series.

Oh.

I was under the impression that they have been knocking off the "Dune for Children" series these last ten years.

Silly me. ;)

No, Dune For Children would you know, have morals and valuable lessons not nerd PrOn.

God no! can you imagine B&K warping the minds of little children with their writting? I mean, i can handle fan fiction but a 8 or 9 year old? what they did with HoD and SoD is criminal but Dune for children is downright crimes against humanity.

Maybe smart children like yours.

But definitely not the bigger, dumber children in their teens and early twenties we seem to keep running into.

No, Dune for dummies would actually seek to explain the major points that Frank was trying to make and seek to make the book easier to digest.

Preeks aren't dumb, they are uncultured. The fact that they are uncultured and don't seek to rectify that makes them dumb. oops Socretian(sp?) logic.

Nonsense. Most of those preeks are born dumb- that is, even if you tried to culture them they still wouldn't get past a certain low level.

I'm sometimes amazed at how dumb most people are though, and it's not that I'm that much of a genius(well, I am, I'm just putting this humble nonsense here so no one would have any claim afterwards  ), just above average.
