Many of you may have read this essay before but for those whom have not here's a link to it.

I thought of copying it over but was mindful of copyright pitfalls, and not knowing enough erred on the side of caution.

I'm sure KJA has never researched anything for 6 years... he probably spaced out over that part of the essay.

KJA? No, he's not the one who needs to read this:
I had already written several pieces about ecological matters, but my superhero concept filled me with a concern that ecology might be the next banner for demagogues and would-be-heroes, for the power seekers and others ready to find an adrenaline high in the launching of a new crusade.
Al Gore anyone? Not to mention him saying anything about how the smallfolk should try and reduce global warming is like Baron Harkonnen calling out for food-relief operations in Somalia. :x
