Phantasm and Dune connection.

Post by HarryCanyon »

I willing to bet that Don Coscrallei who did his Sci-fi/horror/fantasy masterpiece "Phantasm" from 1979 was influenced by the books even with the whole odd world dimension thing and the hand in the box thing.

Maybe the oracular visions could be called an "odd dimension" of sorts? After all, the nature of prescience is never explained in the books.

^^^ There is that. :)

And I suppose the slice-'em-dice-'em silver ball is a hunter-seeker, right? ;)

But what about the Franken-wienie demons? What do those correspond to in Dune?

Sorry, but this is REALLY reaching for it. If there's a quote or something from the people who made the movie establishing a connection, that's one thing. Otherwise... :?

well the stuff with the box and fear is kinda close, but it could be a coincidence, fair enough

as for the rest it is not even far fetched
