I think he turned up in Leto's OM. He was an eighteenth century American. A Quaker or Friend. Cant remember his claim to fame.

"Control the coinage and the courts. Let the rabble have the rest," Leto thought. Old Jacob Broom said it and Leto could hear the old man chortling
within. "Things haven't changed all that much, Jacob."
One of my favourite lines in all the books.

Control the coinage and the courts. Let the rabble have the rest
Isn't this mentioned elsewhere, either in Dune or Messiah?

Doesn't he mention another politician in the book as well? Someone who was around in Frank's times? Seems to me he also mentioned someone more contemporary. Maybe not a politician...

I remember Leto II talking about a guy from London whether I'm wrong or not. At one of his OM saffari.

I seriously hope you're just being random in an attempt at humor.

Otherwise, we may have to ARRANGE a meteor strike.

I'm kinda surprised Keith hasn't re-written that story yet - maybe Jules Verne will solve the mystery.

maybe Keith will make Jules Verne the killer ....

wait, wait .... Jack the Ripper meets Dr Jekyll ... and they take a cruise with
Jack Sparrow to the Treasure Island of Dr Moreau ....

edit : and they meet the Time Machine guy so they can go into the future
& bring back ray-guns !!

(gotta have the pew! pew! pew!, eh ?)

Well if you read the premise to the project, "Leto v. Cthulu", in another thread, It explains what Leto's plans for crossing the timestream and parallel universes.. It makes sense.

I mean, if anyone could take on Cthulu it would be Leto and his flying bubble with lasers.

Excerpt from The Golden Path of Dune:
Duncan fumed. This was the story of his greatest friend that Leto was bastardizing.
"This isn't Atreides, you worm!" he screamed, "You can't just rewrite history!"
"Oh, but I must, Duncan!" He said, as the familiar voice of a friend rose up inside him.
Nothing wrong with destroying a great man's legacy, isn't that right old buddy?
Straight up, brotha,' replied Leto internally, And we'll burn the critical darlings over flaming piles of their own pretensious works!
'Atta champ! It's you and me against the universe, pal! replied Harum, although Leto knew that Harum was only the name history had given his friend. Leto knew him as Kevin J. Anderson.
Duncan took this moment of Leto's reverie to withdraw the lasgun he had concealed in his uniform. He promptly blew his own brains out.
Leto yelped as some of the blood-mist sprayed his cowl. Whisps of blue smoke rose up in front of his face.
He was a douche anyway, said Kevin.
