I collected an enormous number of rejection slips (over 800 at last count), enough to earn me a trophy, "The Writer with No Future," at an authors' conference.



Fortunately, most of those rejection slips occurred early in my career; they don’t happen quite so often anymore.

Ironically, Anderson is the same author who, in 1985 (three years prior to his first novel being published) received the "Writer With No Future" trophy during a writers
