Hitchhikers Guide

Post by Secher_Nbiw »

Now we all know the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy was done and dusted with Mostly Harmless. No one told Eoin Colfer apparently:

If it's done well then I can't see the harm in it. At least he seems to have a grasp of the importance of what he's thinking to do.

Sure would be nice to see a quality addition after an author's death, no?

I like Colfer's writing a lot - his Artemis books are clever and fun - but I think it's a bad idea. I don't know why Colfer has agreed to do it, frankly, unless he wants to prevent someone else from making a hash of it.

Edited to add: a link to a more detailed story:

Actually, IMHO, a better choice of author would have been Stephen Fry, as he knew Douglas personally, and has the same knack of finding the absurd in the things we all take for granted.

He's also a dab hand at writing fiction, although not SF. Nevertheless.

The moment you pull the trigger.

I've got the first book but I still haven't read it. It's supposed to be quite funny, isn't it?
