I've never been. It looks like a nice website. Actually, there's a couple of good sites I've seen you folks mention from time to time. I'll have to give them a serious look.

Ah...I vaguely remember what it's like to have 5,000+ posts on a forum...(sigh)

Have you ever added up all the posts you have on the internet? I think mine come to at least 25,000.

I'm creeping up on 1,000 at Worm's ( would that be a new rank?) and I'm at about 4,500 at DN.

I don't even want to think of the wasted ones at Arrakeen.

I'd prefer not to think of all the writing I've done online. Been online (message boards) since around 1997-1998. I bet I've written the equivalent of dozens of novels by now. Depressing :(

Yes...I will never forget Rebecca (yes, HER, HIS wifey) telling me last year on MySpace that all the time and effort I spent posting online could be better used...in writing a book!

Like writing a book is everyone critical's goal in life.

Still, when you think about it, it was a fairly constructive way of saying "Shut up and go away!" ;)

The whole point of a message board is to waste time.

The only point of a message board is to learn more about DUNE!

Shall I buy you a tape recorder Chigger so you can get started on that book? (Have Rebecca tell the loves of her life to get a fucking computer--and try using it....)

No thanks, B. You'd probably want to insert it into some ungawdy part of my anatomy as a premium option, anyway. :D

I've got a nifty little one I use already. Can remove the battery section and plug it in like a USB flash memory stick! Only downside is the files are wma format. (Feh!)

So I'm good for that book, whenever the Muse flies thru the window and sits on my f...um, nevermind.

Worm's is alright. There are a bunch of old DoD people there. The focus is more on SF in general than on anything in particular. Its more of a social hang out though. They do a lot of those games that I dont really care for, like "drop somehting on the poster beneath you." or "accuse the poster before you of a crime." Not a good way to ignore real work, IMHO.

But they have a few book reviewers there I pal around with, and a bunch of general interest stuff. Its active enough to be interesting. We occasionally get into some pretty deep debates about law and public policy too, especially between me and L-K, also on T(A)U, and those turn out always to be a lot of fun for me, because Im really interested in that stuff.

Give it a shot, and stick with it a bit if you dont like it at first. They all know each other pretty well over there, and it may take a bit to get "in," but its worth the time.

I used to post in the games threads a lot, but that got old pretty fast. I can't be bothered with them anymore.

It won't take much to get in over there, everyone is friendly.

okay, I know this is an old thread, but I finally got to looking around at some of the older pages. To those of you who havn't yet, I would suggest visting Worm's. As has been said, it is mainly Sci-Fi in general but as Mandy said, most of the people over there are friendly (IMO)

And believe it or not I've actually have 1674 posts over there. (As of last count) They even have a RPG thread that I think is fun.

Well that's my small bit of renewing an old thread.

Only the books written by Frank Herbert are canon.
