My yet-to-be-born son needs a middle name

Post by SimonH »

Guys and gals

My yet-to-be-born son needs a middle name! Any suggestions from the many names in the FH books? or elsewhere?

the first name is to be Zach/Zachary

Haven't thought of anything cool yet.

If you are looking for a Duniverse related name, may I suggest:

1. Franklin (obv)
2. Paul (obv)
3. Duncan (obv)
4. Dosadi (weird, but FH)
5. Let the wife choose

option 5. is one of the smartest :D but she has already chosen the first.

I like Franklin. I was originally thinking Francis as it is also a family name. Franklin is definitely more hip

God Emperor Leto, the second of his name!

What? It's a hip 2nd name.

I can't say I like Francis/Franklin personally- their last syllable sounds...female-like, or maybe it's just my Hebrew speaking roots, not sure how naming goes in English. Why not just Frank? Or Herbert?

You could call him Vladimir...if you want him to grow big. :P

Miles is also an option, if Teg is too wierd.

You can name him George after Jorj X. Mackie, Saboteur Extraordinary.

Yea, call him Muzzafar...if you want him to get beaten up every day at school.

You can call him Joshua(sp?) after the Jewish repairman in Rebecca's no-room.

Oh, c'mon, people, he doesn't need wierd names that'll haunt his kid his whole life, he needs normal ones with a connection to Dune.

If he went your way he might as well call him Sory, Sorry w/e, like Tom Cruise's boy/girl/squid.

Bijaz then. Sounds like a rapper.

Or you can call him Orald, after the most Dunish guy after old Frank himself! 8)

That and you can always make an excuse about being a Tolkien fan.

Moneo

Turok is out, too many peope might confuse him with a dinosaur hunter

Jamis would be good, its not too weird, and its a good Fremen name and something true dune fans would recognize. i'd be surprised if any preeqs had any idea who Jamis was.

of course, you could use Usul, since he'd never tell anyone his middle name anyway.

Tyrion!

Uh, wrong book series, but it's a good name nontheless. :P

Just call him Xenu, it'll help save his life when the scientologists take over the world(though considering Xenu is actually their arch-villain guy...oh, what the heck! ).
