I still have to go through "The Dark Side of the Moon" in depth. I've heard most of the tracks over the years, but never really sat down to the whole thing. But it's a concept album, so it's important to listen to the album in one session.

I only listen to entire albums. That's why the internet fad of downloading songs has never appealed to me.

I think it's due to the fact that most music released these days isn't worth sitting down and taking in the whole album. There's still some good stuff out thre, but it's very often over looked.

BS.

I've had enough with this nostalgic view of things.

Music today sucks the same as it sucked 10, 20, 30 and 50 years ago.
There was always bad music, and probably in similar precentages too.

The reason this whole song d/l thing started is because it's much easier and more efficient/cheap than buying a whole album with several songs you don't like/like less.
Instead you buy only the songs you like the most and end up paying less.

I think AToE has a point. I think there is a little more emphasis on marketing the hit single.

It's all because not enough people smoke pot, I tell ya!

I know, I look like the type that would smoke the stuff non-stop. Just isn't for me I guess. Alcohol though...

Pretty much the same here. I am a big fan of 70's rock, but I also love the stuff that was coming out in the early 90's before Britney Spears ruined music for all of us. With the 90's stuff, Ill get songs. With the 70's, albums only.

That's the point, genius. They're saying that when you buy an album, there shouldn't just be one or two good songs, they should ALL be good. Modern mainstream music fails pretty hard at that, but a lot of older music actually didn't.

And people call ME contrary.

Hmm, I doubt that. I think y'all just got used to hearing full albums even with the weak songs in, and now that all these new devices(since the casette really, but more so with disks etc) provide easy going between songs people just skip them. Kinda like the TV remote.

That and nostalgia clouds many a mind to the truth.

Sigh... I'll let you keep dreaming on that one.

On a different note I'm deeply bothered that in an interview I recently read KJA lists some of his fav bands, and I love all of them. How can someone with such good musical tastes go so wrong?

Well, look at it this way- Hitler loved dogs, and so do lots of perfectly sane people, like myself.

Oh c'mon, you knew someone would mention Hitler sooner or later. :P

1. It's "sexually". Unless I'm "sexual" and then I'd have to say I'm getting scared by you. Stop starring at me!

2. "Confused"? I'm not sure where you've seen any confusement around here.

3. "Jew". Clearly, this is another typical anti-semitic attack by the filthy gentiles! :x

BTW...

Creed sucks! I hate you, and I hate the bands you like!

Yup. Yup they do. Did KJA say they were good? If so then I'm happy to see my original opinions of him were correct, and I no longer feel bad.

P.S. we didn't know someone was going to mention hitler...

I'm barely 19. I started listening to classic rock a year or two ago.

I had to look up who that was, actually. And I don't think I've ever even heard of any of her music. Odd.

No, I'm referring to say, the Who, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, things like that. You know, good music.

Rolling Stones eh... you lost me on that one. :D
I know, it's just taste. and they taste bad.
Who am I to talk though, I listen to metal.
I think Alannis was a bit before our time, but not far enough to be worth digging up for inspection.
