Being serious, just rewatching Saving Private Ryan and one scene I always found moving was when Mellish gets the Hitler Youth knife right after they clear the trenches and starts crying.
Also a scene I forgot, with the typewriters churning out death notices and everyone looks so casual and beaurocratic until one elderly woman forrows her brow and checks where she remembers the name "Ryan" from.

In memory of Perach, who suffered and died needlessly.
I wish I could have been with you that one last time.

For anyone who liked Saving Private Ryan, I recommend Band of Brothers, a 10 ep. TV miniseries(with production costs of several movies it looks like from the quality).
Actually, every time I think of Saving Private Ryan(like watching it now) the tune from BoB comes up.

I don't want a pickle
I don't want a tickle
I just want to ride my motorcicle
and I don't want a pickle
and I don't want a tickle
I just want to ride my motorcy.....
from Kawasaki's..Take It To The Limit! Or is it from, On Any Sunday?
I do not remember the Kawasaki movie very well.
There are other movies which have made me cry. I have to remember.
or maybe is just old age (I use to laugh @ people over 30) You can't trust them you know.
On Any Sunday makes me joyful. Right now, I am very limited in practicing my hobbies; consequently, I cry. For real!
"Now" is been the last 15 years. There is a light @ the end of the tunnel though, I am going for it!
I hope is not a Mack Truck!
or maybe, It's My Buggy!

Now, these aren't necessarilly movies that touched/inspired me, but rather good movies that I think have been underestimated, probably since they all fall into the sci-fi/fantasy category.
Robocop(only 1st)- This is a very nostalgic movie for me(I was but a wee lad when I saw it, a couple years after it's release I guess), and I've always loved Robocop, and I feel if you'd ask someone they'll probably say it was a good action/sci-fi movie, though it's much more than that.
Conan The Barbarian- I think this is even more underestimated, being an early Schwartznegger(probably a million spelling errors in that word) movie and based on, well, pulp fantasy(and also containing very few speeches, emotions conveyed mostly with facial expressions).
The movie had alot of cuts and script compromises due to budget and rating issues, and the final version was somewhat dumbed down.
It has one of the best music scores I've heard(and it plays almost non-stop throughout the movie).
I'm not really sure why I like it so much, maybe the nostalgic factor kicks in here too.
Besides, Arnie looks hot in the orgy scene with the black camo paint on him, and I'm not even a fan of body-builder types.

I completely agree with you on both of these, orald. When I first saw Robocop I was young too, and I just though it was an action oriented movie. But I recently watched the Criterion collection release of this, and I really got into it. It was a lot deeper than I remember. Too bad the sequels stopped that.orald wrote:Now, these aren't necessarilly movies that touched/inspired me, but rather good movies that I think have been underestimated, probably since they all fall into the sci-fi/fantasy category.

And I ahve always loved the Conan movie.

As a kid, I though that It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World was the bee's knees. Loved the old school ensembles.
2001
I remember my dad loving it, so naturally I had to too.
Repo Man
This one was one of my first "cult" movies that was hip to like (at the time at least). Some great lines, too.
The Wall
High School. Weed. Floyd. It couldn't miss.
Snatch
I love Guy Ritchie's style, although I wouldn't call it original per se. Very clever, get's rewatched.
Spirited Away
My first foray into anime. LOVED the storytelling. Transcends age groups.
Graveyard of the Fireflies
More anime. I never thought I could get so emotionally involved in a cartoon. Gut wrenching.
Any John Hughes movie. Those were smack dab in my high school years (class of '84, baby!)
12 Monkeys
Gilliam's best, and that's saying something.
Fargo
The Coen's best, imo - and I am NOT all gaga over everything they've done. Ladykillers sucked and Blood Simple is overrated. W H Macey was superb.
Goodwill Hunting
As much as I hate to say it, Matt Damon was g-g-g-good, and Minnie Driver amazing.
Dr. Strangelove
Best Cold War movie EVAR omg lolz. George C Scott was better than Sellers imo.
EDIT:
The poop scene in the first American Pie movie was rather hilarious.

There's a good site on alot of the missing scenes and general info about the Conan movie, it's french but has(poorly, some very funny mistakes) translated pages. I think it's called "Conan the complete list" or somethign similar, but I can't find it. I got a link to it from some deleted-scene vid on Youtube.
EDIT: Here it is. http://conancompletist.com/EN/home.htm
This is the scene I talked about in which Arnie looks both hot and kick-ass.

The Beast Master.
It was shown in the "Reception Area" before we headed out to the barracks. Well, I went to Hospital with Pneumonia. The scene when "his" German Sheppard was killed made me
My dog looked just like this white dog except mine was a Siberian Husky.
Kaiser Wilhelm III, you will always be in my heart. Good Dog!

Inspired me to take care of little girls.
In this movie Tatum is sooo hot.
Well, I did like her acting. It was endearing the way O'Neal finally accepted Tatum without really saying it.
Love this movie!
