bookman, RIP

Post by distrans »

my local used books is going out of business in a few weeks,
they've been open for 30 years and ive been a customer all that time

the rent did them in. the owners were both working second jobs to cover the bills but they say their revenues have fallen 50% following the kindles introduction.

never thought of myself of a book burner but I look at all of brians books on the shelf there and am tempted to buy em just to toss em

say

is the one he co-authored with his father worth the read?

never picked it up before

It's a shame when an independent bookshop, new or second hand, closes. I have a kindle, but only use it when I travel. Even then I manage to take one or two books along.

I never read the book by Frank and Bobo, so I can't help you there.

local bookshops are kinda starting to proliferate in Sacramento again. There's two within walking distance of my home now, and 4 or 5 in the city. which is not really a hub of intellectualism.
