Lots of good points about numerals and letters systems coming from India and being adopted by the Arabic peoples.

The Romans main change to the world was making Christianity a mandatory, state religion in the 300s. I am not saying that it was right, but that is what Constantine started, and it was the pushing underground of so-called paganism. The 'Roman' way of looking at non-Christians as people to either be 'converted', killed, or brought under tribute, is their main change to the civilization of the Euro-Meditteranean area.
