Fallen Skies anyone?

Post by trang »

didnt see any reference to this anywhere, so what the heck.

I watched the two hour premiere last Sunday after work, I was underwhelmed.

Independence day, with stale acting, sad special effects. Left out major plot points
so they could milk it for the series. why did they attack us? what do they want? Where did
they come from? How long since the attack? Just basic stuff.

After stargate universe,(what a failure), and Caprica(another dismal failure), I just expect a little more, I guess.

My girlfriend liked it and told me to give it a chance.

Going to watch the next episode tonight, see if they do any better.

if ya liked it, point out some good things, help me like it so I have something to look forward to. Fringe is off the air till next fall, Big bang theory is reruns also. Not much else out there!

I just watched the pilot, not that bad. I'll watch the first episode tonight to give it one more chance.

I watched the pilot last night, thought it was pretty good... not the best thing I've ever seen, but I enjoyed it.

The show starts 6 months after the attack. I'm kinda glad they skipped the initial invasion and went right to the resistance. The characters in teh show don't know why the aliens invaded or what they want, so I guess we'll find out when they do.

I thought it interesting that one of the kids pointed out to the teacher that the critters were six-legged but their robots are bipedal.

There's going to be some kind of twist there.

yeah, maybe the skitters aren't the real bad guys.

I was debating watching it. I'll have to give it a chance and watch the pilot.

I loved the first half of the old 80's V when it centered more on the arrival and 'what are they up too'. Has anyone kept up with the new one?

It's total laugh-out-loud shit. The new V, that is.

fell asleep after got home from work and missed the first episode, guess will have to watch for a replay. The six legged skitter vs two leg robots was a decent point, ill give ya.

The new V was pretty laughable, was hard to get immersed with that FBI lady being from the LOST cast, kept waiting for them to time shift to an island or something. The lizard leader lady was hot though, so was her daughter, as humans that is.

Yeah, it veered into cheesy-land. I like the parts where they're out fighting the aliens, and some of the planning stuff, but the personal interactions are kinda lame, and the bad guy chef is super cheesy.

He reminds me of Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump.

I liked Caprica a lot, I found it captivating and moving. And at times I felt it was better than BSG.

I just watched 30 min of Falling Skies, I think it's a poor copy of the 80s "V" The Series (and this one was awfully bad!: Today: Mike DOnovan vs the evil lizard Karate sensei, and next week Donovan vs the teen motorcycle gang)
Only the books written by Frank Herbert are canon.

I'm waiting for the dvd box set of the 2nd season to be available for sale, it's a shame that they have cancelled the series. I liked the 1sr Season, I was elated when I saw on the screen a mothership over Mexico City :)
