Post by lotek »

In France it is big news as the guy was a potential contender for the presidency against our excited dwarf(one of Sarkozy's friendliest nickname), what the view on this on the US side I wonder...

Most people I know aren't surprised that a guy who has been raping the third world countries may be actually raping women as well.

Oh yeah, big news.

I don't understand, didn't he have enough money to hire prostitutes? :naughty:

Yeah I heard about. Was planning on asking a few of my friends in France about it yesterday but forgot it in the frustration with a slow laptop.

well the man's been known for being what you call a sex-addict, and not the most subtle one at that.
So no one is really surprised this is happening.

The timing is a different matter, without shouting "CONSPIRACY !!!!", however tempting it seems, the fact remains the presidential election is in a year's time now, and DSK was billed as a serious contender for N.Sarkozy. So this kind of gets him out of the way and leaves the socialistes/left wing with candidates that have the charisma of a turnip.

Then there is the matter of how French journalists treat that specific part of our politician private lives. It seems that in the USA people don't understand why this is so hush-hush in a way.

Then again, making a sex fiend a head of state would be like giving Tiger Woods free credit at the local whorehouse, so in a way I am glad this has happened.
I am not a prude, definitely not, but it would be nice to lift that hypocrisy on the relation between sex and politics.

nb
these men get sex because they find women that'll sleep with anything that says power, and there is a word for that.

In this case it seems the hotel employee didn't even know who the guy was so that wouldn't apply in this case.
