I surely hope not because I know I can not wait a year ... I will buy the HC if necessary, but I rather don't.

I'm guessing it's unusual for a book to get six printings before it's release date. Is it? How often does something like that happen?
I bring nothing to the table.

Think Stephen King in the 80's. That means that vendors are pre selling the living shit out of this one. For the sixth book of a highly popular series, Id be surprised if the initial run were less than the hundreds of thousands.

Too hot to be Brianne. Size is right though.

We got our copies of Dance of Dragons in today. The Receiving manager choose to mock me with that info. Technically we aren't supposed to open the boxes until Tues. morning and we can't sell them before that date.

Technically, I know where the tape guns are and the receiving manager is off tomorrow...

Amazon.de (Germany) screwed up and an employee shipped around 180 copies early. Publisher and GRRM not happy.

Speculation is the hardcover has now around 500,000 copies printed. The first volume has sold over 1 million copies in PB so there is the potential to move close to 1 million copies in HC.

The MMPB of Game of Thrones hit #1 on the MMPB best selling lists, first time that title has hit #1.

The Hastings Books, Music, Video chain is having chain wide midnight release parties for A Dance With Dragons.

I'm going ot hit Bubonicon this year at the end of August and get my extra set of HC's signed by GRRM.

Tor has a good "where Everybody is" thing for anyone who hasn't had the chance to read the series over again http://www.tor.com/blogs/2011/07/where- ... ons-begins" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also, if you'd like to read a list of the POV chapters you can do that here http://pastebin.com/ZCaThQUr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have a spreadsheet somewhere that listed all the POV chapters by book and by total. Been a long time since I've seen it though.

And thanks for the Tor link, that is exactly what I need!

I'm still not sure if I'll go to the signing on 7/14. I can't seem to reschedule my eye exam. :cry:

I work a half-day tomorrow and then I'm on vacation. Perfect timing!

oh and an employee discount certainly helps against the frikkin 35.00 HC cost.

I wonder how silly Dany (the actress, I mean) feels sitting there naked and muddy pretending to have dragons on her shoulder. :)

Not quite as silly as sitting there naked pretending to have on suckling her I'd guess? :D
