Think maybe it was a conscious thing on Abrams' part, a definitive rejection of the space-dock scenes from the earlier Trek movies? (Admittedly, the ones with the dockyard INSIDE the garbage-disposal-shaped station, with the big doors opening and shutting, were really stupid.)

Anyway... I would really like to see Abrams attacked and pleasured to near-death by a gang of sex-starved female ourangs.

You have unwittingly blessed Mr. Abrams here. Those orangutans will do you right, my friend!

Anyway, mthat scene was just for drama; so a troubled Kirk, could ride by it on his motorcycle and gave wistfully up at in the mist. They had a space dock scene right after that one.

Saw it, forgot it... If there's nothing better to do- sort of movie.
Leto II is gone for good, except for OM. The "pearl" was just that; a miniscule portion of what Leto was, and not a compressed version of the whole. The pearl that the worms have do not make them Leto, or in any way similar to him.

I watched the Philip K. Dick episode of Prophets of Science Fiction and they mentioned his short story the Adjustment Team... I noticed the movie was On-Demand earlier...

I am pretty much bored senseless.

I'd like to say a little more about it but i'm not joking, i've forgotten everything except for the hats. Nice 30s style hats. I wonder where they got them?

I think y'all know where I stand on hats.

Maybe I'll watch it and make a list of hat etiquette errors.

Saw it couple months back, Its not overly exciting, little touchy feely, basic story line, do you believe in fate? or do the guys with hats control everything.

FWIW, I'm planning on seeing it, even though I'm not familiar with the comic (other than knowing it by name, that it exists).

Any Wes Anderson fans? Just watched Rushmore. Bill Murray is hilarious in it.

The Big Lebowski

I watched the beginning (I'm not very goof at finishing things) and I have to say it was true to the original, I grew up reading Tintin stories (even though it was more out of compulsive reading, right from the start I thought this guy was way too much lucky to be a real hero)

Yeah, Lindsey Lohan in the nun's habit. If you blink during that movie you'll either miss a hot chick or an impaling.

So this is what prompted the Mayra Leal Google search.

Good call, by the way.

Yes, she's only in the movie intro, but she's naked the whole time.

Yeah, I guess the purported fidelity to the original is why I'm interested in seeing it: I've had friends from Yerp tell me about it but never felt the urge to read it myself. ;)

I'm watching Dumb and Dumber with my kids. I've never seen people laugh that hard. It's fun just watching them laugh.

My 10-y-o had to get behind the couch.
