Flash Your Desktop

Post by Robspierre »

I've been in the mood to change around the desktops on my notebooks and rearrange my work area.

That's not an American train, is it Rob? The gage looks a little narrow.

I'm sporting a rather fine combo of grey Windows standard/Hong Kong Phooey with a dashing double depth taskbar that I'm too embarrassed to show you.

Here is my old desktop arrangement, I have the ipad set up as a second display using the DisplayPad app.

And here is my new arrangement:

Inhuien, that pic was taken somewhere in the UK, not sure where but it is a lovely piccie to have on the desktop at Christmas/Hogmonay time.

Now to clean out and my wallpaper folders, might even do a bit of searching for some new ones.

My best froend found me (us, actually) a few bottles of Glen Rothes 1989 in San Francisco. Can't wait to imbibe.

My local is finally starting to get some special bottling's in, though they are priced more than a bit higher than at other places, at least we have more options than Johnny Walker Red & Black.

in the middle, you can put your froends ;)

Have fun with the Glen Rothes; if you have spares I'll send Fed Ex :)

Hi Rob, could you by any chance send me a copy of the German BR 44? It is awesome. I am big Steam fan and especially German engines. In the eighties I travelled to the former GDR a few times to watch them in full service. My email is simply my "username" @gmail.com ... thanks in advance.

I'll do better than that, here is the link to the page. You can select what dimensions will fit your screen.

Like the Glen Rothes do you? I love that stuff. Another of my favorites, Highland Park 18 y.o., is really popular this year. Its hard to find now, and the cheapest I see on line is $89. I remember paying $125 a bottle ten years ago, when they made less of it, but still...

Omph,I have fond memories of the Highland Park 18, a nice dram! Longmorn 15 is a good drink and the last time I saw it in California was running in the $50 range.

Macdesktops.com, my good man. The owner is a fellow Mac web publishing old-hand and a decent guy. Puts together a damn fine site IMHO.

Ahh....always a sign of a discerning Mac power user, IMO, when one sees the Dock on the right hand side of a widescreen :cylon101:

Yeah, I love it — this is the first decent-sized screen I've ever owned. I love all that space for games ... I mean, all of that work area.

I tried to post a full-size screen shot of my two big-ass monitors over @T(A)U when Rob started
this kind of thread over there, just to see it blow up the page frame and piss the Sand Chigger off
with its load-time, but MOTHERFUCKING BotoPhucket has some kinda horseshit file-size limit and
sized it down .... and now I don't want to play ...
