Dune costume?

Post by Lundse »

Hi guys. I am going to a sci-fi-themed costume party next month. And I have to get some sort of homage to Dune, or Frank, in there somehow. Any suggestions for manageable costumes that won't look completely ridiculous?
Or just an idea on making stuff work - how does one go about making an inkvine scar, for instance?

And yes, I have considered the still-suit with authentic smell and "in-door-plumbing"...

Get a hefty garbage bag and a green chemlight and go as a David Lynch Sardaukar.

Get a gigantic hat with butterflies and go as any female character in the SciFi series.

It's at the end, after all the gayness. Granted, it's a two-man suit, but awesome, nonetheless.

It's not sad that I knew what you were talking about before clicking the link, right? Actually, last night's episode mentioned that fear is the mind killer, about "The tooth! The tooth!" Granted, it wasn't a poison tooth but one that contained data, but I got a kick out of it none-the-less.

Find a gigantic wig of black hair, stuff a garden hose up your nose, and go as Kyle MacLachlan.

Dune is a tough theme to work with for a recognizable costume.

When I had long hair I'd thought of putting it in a silver ring and painting a diamond on my forehead and being Yueh. Believe it or not alot of my friends would actually get it too.

Wow. Thanks guys. Didn't know this would turn into a picture thread...

I'm afraid there isn't room for a wormrider+worm, in our back yard. But KJA would be easy, I think I have a dictaphone somewhere. I could recite purple prose and gore-fests all night :-)

Or... at 1.63m, I might pass for Bijaz?

Or maybe I'll have to look beyond Dune...

May the Schwartz be with you...

It's difficult, because this is how you would dress up if you wanted a recognizable costume from the Lynch film. I really like the Jodorowsky designs, but how the hell do you dress up like that. Not to mention that no one would know what it was from.

I do really like that worm with the wormrider. It would be cool if you could make a worm in the style of a Chinese parade dragon. This is not very helpful, is it.

Ha! Look at the chickie with the Irulan/Butterfly Hat. At the every least, she has a sense of humor.

Chani is pretty tasty. That's probably the best idea: tight leather, bootknife, and something in your nose. Urine and feces in the thighpads.

Actually, my advice would be just to throw an Honored Matres party at the Hellhole. Futars and Honored Matres.
