Well I saw the movie in the cinema (imax) – to be honest I wasn’t disappointed…then again my expectations wasn’t that high. It’s an ok movie, I had a few chuckles at the cheesy lines from time to time – but I stayed awake all the movie which is more than you could say about my brother. The movie it self is very nice visually but the story was – as I expected very predictable….VERY.

I’m just happy I didn’t spend any money on it…well except on the overpriced candy.

For a zillion dollar movie I'm sure they could have done better, but I wasn't expecting it to be fabulous, and it didn't disappoint. It was impressive, but it was silly like I thought it'd be.

Well at least it gives me something to trash online when the KJA news cycle is slow. That's pretty entertaining, and I didn't even have to go see it.

Yeah, the story was fairly predictable, but on the whole, I enjoyed it nonetheless. I was intrigued by some of the ideas, I cared about the characters, and I wanted to know what was going to happen, so that qualifies as a good movie to me.

The visual effects were pretty amazing - I still don't know in any given scene where the CG stopped and the live action started - but it was the more the story and characters that entertained me.

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

Nah, they'd have to have it on a line, or something.

There should a Godwin's Law for this sort of thing: given enough time, any SF/F/genre messageboard discussion will eventually feature Monty Python quotes.

I'm not an Avatard but I enjoyed the movie, sure it's nothing unique or great from a story perspective but I still found it to be an enjoyable action flick.

I did actually register at the biggest Avatard forum out there in January though, for the lulz.. It was hilarious, bunch of idealistic naive people that cried about how they want Earth to be like Pandora.

Yeah, that's what we need, a planet where EVERYTHING wants to eat us.

Wait! I thought we already were there. Come down here in the summer and you'd think that everything was out to eat you...at least every little buzzing insect.
