Nice! Running round the woods inflicting bruises on other people with highly realistic toy guns is great fun :)

Merry xmas everyone :)

Mom is getting us a Wii! I think I'll have to get Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare with the Zapper and an extra Zapper for squadmate mode.

A co-worker gave me her 34" Sony TV last week, it'll look great on that. :D

Which means I can move the TV that was in the living room into my two boy's room and hook up the spare PS2 to it. I'll have to get them two new controllers and the remote for watching DVDs.

I'll get a couple of games for the youngest boy (5).

My 8-y-o son wants pocket language translation books, so I'm trying to find him an electronic translator.

Need to find something for the princess... oh yeah, she wants long black gloves for the Kitty costume.

From your dashed expectations you obviously know me well enough by now to know that I really think it's a cool thing. ;)

What's he interested in, specifically?

Future US demographics-wise, Spanish is a good language to know. Other options would depend on what he wants to do someday. Eight's still kinda young, I guess, but does he ever make "I wanna be a _____!" pronouncements? :)

I finished my shopping, with two days to go, which is a record for me. We were going to have our first Christmas together in the house, but no chance! :D We're at my parents for Christmas, then travelling up to Liverpool for a couple of days at my boyfriend's mum's house, then back down for New Year. We both got the whole Christmas and New Year break off work, which was a good result.

I bet you had all your shopping done weeks ago!

I asked for a list of about 20 really good Sf classics...stuff like PKD, and a few Silverbergs.

I also asked for the original vinyl version of the single "Crocodile Rock" by Elton John. O_o

I got all the big things done a week or so ago. My boy wanted a basketball hoop and my girl wanted some jewelery, so daddy delivered. Or, will deliver. Gonna go get some stocking stuffer stuff tomorrow. You know, little cheap pieces of cool crap that will entertain them for a short time, like sticker books, toy cars...stuff like that.

Worked 104 hours last week (3 jobs at moments) and will be pushing that or more this week, so haven't had time other than to sleep, eat, drive, work. Only one more week and will have consolidated down to one job (best of three) and moving forward.

Going to try and push the sleep a bit Wednesday night and knock out some shopping just so I can show up at ex to be's place with something for my kids.

Once settled with new job, will catch them up.

100 hour work weeks suck!!

Merry New Year and happy festivas!!

I did that for two years before law school started, Trang. I was about dead at the end. I had three jobs too. One as a teller at a bank, another as a bookseller at Border's, and a third on the weekends doing destruction on homes my buddy's company was going to fix up. Sure wouldn't want to be our age doing that shit. Good luck.

Merry Christmas, Chig.

People in Sacramento go nuts for that kind of thing. There are entire streets where every house must triple or quadruple their electrical consumption during the holidays. Personally, I love that stuff. It gets even better watching my kids go nuts when they see it.

Reminds me that someone decorated a butt-ugly statue of a hammerhead midget (for lack of any possible better description) in front of the Education Dept. buildings to look like Santa.

(I think it was some art major's Master's project. Anyway, it's known in some circles as "Bijaz". ;) )
