RIP John Hughes

Post by Spicelon »

Huge part of my adolescence. Corny as his stuff was, it was still like reading my diary back then. I'll miss him.

Here's a quarter. Go downtown and have a rat gnaw that thing of your face.

Oh, man, we could fill this whole site with great Hughes-isms.

Sad day. For a certain age group here, I'm sure his movies are fondly remembered as a fun part of more innocent times.

Save Ferris? Save Ferris? Save Ferris?
Excuse me?
Well, a group of us are collecting money to buy Ferris Bueller a new kidney. They run about 50 g's, so if you wouldn't mind helping out...
Go piss up a flagpole.
I'm sorry?
You should be.

RIP Hughes! :(

Wow. this was the first I heard about him passing. :( I might not have seen all of his films, but I've seen my share.

What sucks about that is many of his movies (Ferris and Sixteen Candles, off the top of my head) have impossible-to-find soundtracks.

I read an article once that mentioned that oddity ... but damned if I can recall, specifically, why it was so.

"He made some of the most successful comedy films of the 1980s and 1990s, including National Lampoon's Vacation; Ferris Bueller's Day Off; Weird Science; The Breakfast Club; Some Kind of Wonderful; Sixteen Candles; Pretty in Pink; Planes, Trains and Automobiles; Uncle Buck; Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York."

Wow, that is awesome.
