Well, in the movie, they say that time travel created an alternate reality...

I half expected Spock to say : "Logically, we have been rebooted..."

Did you hear that Michael Bay is calling McG a Hack because Terminator Salvation has giant robots?

"Lets watch Transformers" I generally translate this into "Someone bitch-slap me!"

I actually liked the alternate reality plot point - Any other universe it would have felt like a shitty cop-out, but I thought worked - old Spock gave it a bit of credibility and made it work.

Yeah, the science was shit and I hated the design - especially after BSG where every door guards against decompression and the stuff Bones said at the start about the dangers of space: None of it felt at all shiplike. And an actual window on the bridge? Trek bridge placement is silly at best - but that was asking for trouble!

BUT - I wasn't bored once. Brilliant film with a great cast (including Kirk).

...Won't be buying the DVD though - I don't think it's one worth over-analysing :P.

Oh, it's far too late to hope for that. Faaaar too late. But thankfully our board is mostly shielded from the "isms" of Trek fans :)

Seconded. It's not even the best movie in its own series, let alone some sort of gift to cinema.

It sure sold a few tickets, though, didn't it? Man, I almost can't believe some of the figures I've seen.
what is the best Batman movie ?

Eesh...it had too much in common with Star Wars. Visually, it was OK, and the acting was passable.

No part of the film was memorable for me...it just didn't stand out.
