A metaphorical punch in the gut for TheKJA

Post by TheDukester »

Just try to imagine the shit-eating grin Keith had to plaster on his face when one of his "critical darlings" took home the Best Novel prize at last weekend's Nebulas:

Ouch! That one must have hurt, huh, Hacky? :text-lol:

It's nice to see WALL-E get some more deserved credit.

Yup, this is what happens when you're a "critical darling" and not a KJA :)

naw he'll just point out that you have to be in the same circle as them to even get invited. It's like always getting to play in the Masters but always coming in last.

EDIT

Just found this quote here:http://www.weblo.com/celebrity/availabl ... on/282246/

"One of my very favorite things to do is to write bad guys. Because I learned that bad guys never think of themselves as the bad guy."

Why does that make way too much sense?

BTW why is he listed under celebrities?

hmmm im out of the loop I guess, which one is tied to KJA?

Im still pissed that Frank Herbert is not been awarded a Grand Master Status... I was told the award is given based on the decade and only so many per decade. I want them
to give it to him retro, otherwise the list is incomplete.

Or this one:

"I don't think the author should make the reader do that much work to remember who somebody is."

Oi hack - try injecting personality and soul into your characters and the reader would remember them, no effort involved - though that's a bit hard when every chapter is only allowed to be 4 pages long I suppose. What is his fetish with 120+ chapters per book all about

Oh, and  to Ursula K. LeGuin - and  to Kevvie.
Freakzilla - "Apparently we can only aspire to be the 13th biggest Dune fan since we are not family or in the HLP."

Byron - "Are you trying to irk me?"

Next to LeGuin, KJA is a rank amateur. He didn't have a chance - and shouldn't have had.

In fact, all the winners this year are in a different class from KJA. He's dreaming if he thinks he can nab an award any time soon.
