Hurry up and finish so we can use the fonts for an upcoming literary project
Yeah, but it's possible that font had a name and was recreated digiatally somewhere.
If it existed before it was used for the Dune books it might...

DE says "designed by Jeremiah B. Lighter" but this was before Berkley Books merged with Penguin in 1996. If he was still around he may know.
He seems to be a review writer for the NTY now.

Looks like he may have been the typographer, so if he is still around he would be the one.

The links I see when I Google his name are to letters to the editor that he wrote to the NYT.

I looked in Greenwood's A Biographical Dictionary of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (1988) and found nothing for him.

I did a google and I reckon "designer" refers to cover designer (as in layout etc) ... rather than font designer/typographer.

But.. that said, if he does still exist, he probably would know :P - same publisher, same series, same font - I wouldn't be suprised if he set the US covers of most of FH's books from that era.

I can't read the article, but this did come up on the search in the NYT archives.

Maybe him, maybe not...

"Jeremiah B. Lighter has joined Federal Advertising Agency, Inc., as typographer."

Really? Bugger -- it's the back of a book that says "Cover Design by Jeremiah B. Lighter"
but this did come up on the search in the NYT archives.

Ah - nice :D Could be him then... :P

I think a unicorn flying over the top, maybe leaving a trail of fairy dust and sparkles. That would make it fit in with all the other huge Dune forums. What say, chap? :D

I'm pumped!

This is the best logo design yet. Forget my drafts, this wins!!! It fits with the whole water-stealer thing, as well as the OH position. Very well done.

Freak, please make this the official logo!

So what's the font going to be called? "Frank" or "Jacurutu" would be nice.
