New hardcover release October 2016

Post by just_kyle »

Dune will be part of the 6 book Penguin Galaxy Series, which will be released on October 25th with a new introduction from Neil Gaiman and an afterword by BH.
The other 5 books are The Once and Future King, Stranger in a Strange Land, 2001, The Left Hand of Darkness and Neuromancer.

Amazon has the individual books up for preorder.

Thanks, but no thanks. No more money for the HLP from me.

I like the looks of the book and it would nice to have a hardcover set of the [true] Dune novels like this. I have the first in hardcover from years ago but the others just in paperback and Kindle. If they do all 6 Dune books like this, I would buy it.

I wonder how much it burns BoBo's ass that Neil Gaiman got the Forward and he was relegated to the back of the book. :)

If you go to the Penguin page for the new edition and click on the Look Inside link, you can read NG's introduction.
I thought the next to last sentence about Dune was a polite jab at the BH/KJA books.

Ouch that is a jab at McDune. Good on Neil. I hope Penguin (doubt they will) will do the other 5 Dune Chronicles like this.

Gaiman wrote: "Others would write more stories in the Dune universe after Herbert's death, to diminishing returns. But none of that minimizes the achievement and grandeur of Dune."

Ouch!
