David Matthews - Dune

Post by xcalibur »

I'm surprised no one has posted about this yet. this is an excellent jazz-funk album from 1977 (before my time) inspired by Dune. in my humble opinion, this does greater justice to the books than any other spinoff media I know of. it's complex, thoughtful, groovy, and the various songs and leitmotifs blend together smoothly. I would recommend this to anyone.

here are all the tracks. 5-8 are the b-side which is not directly Dune related.

enjoy, and let the spice flow.

That is special, thanks!

My preferred time period, plus it's jazz of which I'm inordinately fond.

Not to mention the Dune theme. Can't understand why I missed it on its release.

Got a chance to listen to the first song. Sounds class. Might have to find me a download...

Thanks for posting. This is really otherworldy. I never knew that this album existed.
