So far, I've checked out the fonts page on Kull Wahad, and it's explained where the alternative DUNE fonts come from. However, I'm curious as to where the font on DUNE hardbacks/paperbacks like this example picture comes from. I really like the lettering, and I want to use it for a parody cover I have in mind. Can you guys help me?

 Thank you very much, DuneFishUK! You directed me to the right spot, and you made me laugh as well. The only downside is that the font is not free for download (strange to me), but I've found a sample PDF of the complete alphabet in this font, so I'm good to go. I've checked out that site where you got the site information from. Maybe I'll find it handy when I need to determine the fonts of other books (like SHOGUN or WATERSHIP DOWN).

I am very grateful for you help DuneFish. However, I want to warn others that this font comes with a infamous toolbar which will infect your search engines. It's called My Start by Incredibar, and although I got rid of it, whenever I search on Yahoo, My Start thinks it owns my search engine. It hasn't infected any other search engine I've used, and even though I uninstalled it, it still acts like it has taken over my Yahoo search engine. For some reason, the site makes it so that you have to have that toolbar in order to use that font. I've only just recently learned that the toolbar is already pretty infamous, and its irritating me that it had to come with one of the best fonts I've come across. I don't blame you for what happened, DuneFish. You helped me when I requested it, and you couldn't have known that it carried bizarre additions. I probably chose the wrong download option, and so I am reaping the benefits from my stupidity. Ah, well. Time to have my water drawn for the sake of the tribe...

But before I do that, I will enjoy that font while I can.

Eh?

I just got a plain ole TTF file ... :?

It shouldn't be able to do that - a font is just a little file with characters in it - extension .ttf or .otf - if you're trying to get one of those and it asks you to download and open anything that isn't, check what you're doing and google the site to see if it's legit.

Not sure what you've done there, but good luck fixing it - uninstall the badness ASAP!

EDIT: Yeah - second link on the list. "Download TTF"... should be fine. I hope. :o
