You're right!

I was so impressed with the fact that he made this mini (and the others) I didn't even think about the scale being wrong.

When a commenter is outraged that the comparison makes the Baron look worse you know you got problems.

Yeah this comment is priceless:
This is an insult to Harkonnen. Trump has exhibited nowhere near the intelligence to justify comparing him to Baron Harkonnen.

Has anybody found a good Dune podcast? I've been listening to "Hardcore Game of Thrones" the Dan Carlin Hardcore History parody and wish someone gave Dune that kind of treatment.

I found this http://dunesagapodcast.com/#sthash.p1NcjHew.dpbs but without listening to it, it looks like they take the shit books as seriously as the good ones. Again, I may be wrong about that and have listened to absolutely none of it yet.

Has anyone on this forum made one, or thought of making one? Maybe Rob, Freakzilla, Omphalos and Nekhrun could do one together?

I would certainly fucking listen to it. And I would also be a Patreon supporter of $5 a month (minimum).

Wow, they all hate Doon, which to me almost disqualifies them as Dune fans!

There's also this, but it has some of the same issues (they like and will cover the BH/KJA books): https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/dune-cast/id1109192378" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I personally don't really see the appeal of podcasts: listening to people blather for half an hour or more just to say something it would have taken five minutes to read if they'd written it down.

Finally starting to spread the Muffley Millions to the arts? Good on you, old boy!

I am pretty sure that Chig and Mr. Teg made five or six entries in their podcast. Old episodes should be on HToD.

When you commute an hour and half every day and have to do long drives a couple times a month, podcasts are a lifesaver. It's basically the same thing as listening to talk radio and there are some really good ones out there. I'd love to hear you guys do an in-depth analysis of the good Dune Novels, and also take the other ones apart - which is basically the main purpose of this forum, no?

It would probably require minimum a two-person team to pull off, both to exchange banter, to pose and answer questions, and also for one to keep speaking while the other looks up quotes and details that need to be found in the texts. If I was retired it might even be a fun thing to do, but let's just say that's a LONG way off.

I'm going to have to work until lunch on the day of my funeral.

Don't you put a shitload of work into this forum?

All you'd need is a couple hundred dollar mic set-up. (If you're worried about costs I know a couple podcasters who have setups that work very well but did not cost them much at all - (Dylan Schuck @schuckster on Twitter) - and ask him how he does it on a shoestring budget. But Nekhrun, I would wager, would know exactly how to set this up.

Be in a room with blankets to deaden the sound. It can also be done remotely from two different locations.
2 guys to break down the first Dune book, in one hour segments.

The subject matter may seem obvious to to you, but your audience is the person who's only read the book once or twice, or is in the midst of reading it. Or someone like me, who doesn't have a very in-depth understanding or memory of the books in comparison to you guys, and hasn't read them in a while, but would like to revisit them.

Talk about all of the great ideas and the depth of the characters, the implied backstories, (without spoiling the next episodes).

Do all of the real Dune books first, and make references to the Dune Encyclopedia.

I think people would love it.

Your costs are your hosting fees and bandwidth. Put it on Sticher and eventually get it on iTunes. It wouldn't be that hard to do.
