Frank Herbert Cover Archive/Wiki

Post by Hunchback Jack »

This site has an impressive collection of Dune/FH covers from around the world:

http://www.dune.cz/encyklopedie/Kategor ... a_Herberta" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They have this gem, which I hadn't seen before:

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

I've seen that one before, but a quick glance at that site and I can say they have a pile that I have never seen, I'm going to waste a while on that site I think!

Good find.

That's the painting which was broken up into parts and used on the covers for the New English Library paperbacks. Love it. :D

(Chapterhouse part seems to be missing, though. Maybe it was a later addition...???)

Yes, it came out a year after the others (they published those covers as a set when Heretics came out in PB), so I don't think the CH:D cover fits in.

It fits in stylistically but not thematically, I think.

I just meant it doesn't fit in pictorially. The front cover of Heretics doesn't join up with the back cover of Chapter House.

Sorry, I'm too unsophisticated to notice style or theme.

Nice find! Some time ago I'd been looking for the composite of the first five Dune novels but couldn't find it...
