Catching up

Postby Nekhrun » 12 Feb 2010 21:24

It's been quite a while since I've been here and it looks like I've got a lot of reading to do.

I didn't see anything upon my first run through, but is there a thread yet about the latest news about the new Dune director trying to stay as true as possible to the source material?

Also, I noticed that on Amazon.com the audio version of some kja piece of shit does not even mention Bobo's name. I lost the link I had to it in my email somewhere.

One more thing, have we got any preeqs left here?

We just touched on that. I think it's in the Dune Media > New Dune Movie thread.

I did, though I smoked most of the pack and didn't think you'd want it after that so I smoked the rest. Sorry.

aww, that's cool - I quit smoking them little cigar-ette things last summer, anyway -
went back to the Skoal & Redman, and occasional pipe when in uniform ...

what about my TV Guide ?
didja remember my TV Guide ?

it's your turn to vacuum the dog hair outta the rug, too -
lotek quit taking out the trash, and the new girl's too "liberated" to help out around here ....

oh yeah, Chigger left a mess on the lawn again - get some rubber gloves and a shovel ...

what about my CoolWhip ?

Gah! Flashbacks! I used to deliver pizza to guys like that.

"Hey, tell the delivery guy to get a quart of milk and some cigs — he knows my brand. Oh, and a newspaper! Okay, thanks. Oh, wait! Can he go by the sportsbook and get a parlay card?"

And then the total tip would be like 78 cents. :?

well, 78 cents used to be a lot of money.
you could get a pack of smokes, a cheeseburger and malted at the diner,
fill your car up with gas, take a cheerleader to the movies, get a handjob
from a hooker after you took the cheerleader home, buy a bag of grass
from a negro jazz musician, bail yourself out of jail and pay the fine,
and still have some left over for your college fund ....

you kids today just don't know the value of money ....

I think I gave my kid 78 cents for his last tooth.

I wonder why there is no cent symbol on the average keyboard?

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.
