On it looking like armor: I'm actually thinking that none of that is hard, armored material. It resembles human musculature because, well, isn't it supposed to use the movement of ones' muscles to provide the pumping action for its functions?

I believe most of the pumping is provided by the heel pumps in the boots.EsperandoAGodot wrote:On it looking like armor: I'm actually thinking that none of that is hard, armored material. Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

In the Lynch movie Kynes says that too. I think it was mentioned in the book...

By KJA, they are the "Freemen" of Arrakis. And Freemen word developed to "Fremen". So, if Simon agree with what BH&KJA "wrote", the singular probably would be "Freman".Nekhrun wrote:Wouldn't a singular "Freman" still be a Fremen? I'll have to go see what Frank says about it.Simon wrote:Freman

Wow, that felt good. Seriously.

Unless something else happened recently that I'm not aware of it goes something like this: Some Martian jackass on Amazon last year mistakenly called him Keith repeatedly and the name stuck. He was also a poster on DNA Thing of Eternity wrote:I think I missed something at some point - why are we calling KJA Keith?

Martian Bob. Can't remember his handle over at DN, but he was always bitching about his angina. His website is one kooky UFO conspiracy theory after another. I think he also is still "investigating" that face sculpture on Mars. He was the one who was also whining about how none of us (save Hyppo) gave him Dune related names for the Martian map that someone was putting together.
I keep wondering if he has died, but I dont think he has.
Anyway, he got all confused one day and started blathering about "Brian and Keith." I, of course, took up any opportunity to tease both of them so the name stuck.

Also the suit wouldn't have any white on it were the image not a strict black and white deal. Those white ares on the stilsuit would actually be gray, the black portions of the suit would be a darker shade of gray as well.
[from edit} Freak is correct (of course!) but I figured the suit would need to work in concert with the natural actions of the body as not to hinder movement in any way, hence a muscly appearence. I was thinking of it as a second skin.
