Oh, oh! I never miss an opportunity to bash that hack.
If there was a KJA of comic books, Liefeld would be it!

There's a great link I've got to find again ... some guy just dissects RL's lack of talent, point by gruesome point. It's pure awesome.

I'll post it if I can find it again. Damnit, why do I not just bookmark sites? :x :?

BB
I'm not going to join a forum just to bash Rob Liefeld.
*thinks about it*
Okay, maybe it's not such a bad idea :)

TheDukester
Are you referring to The 40 Worst Rob Liefeld Drawings? :)

Enjoy!

Oh, so that Rob Liefeld. I have known his drawings for years, and known the name, but never put them together. I hate that guy's work. Seriously, he is the reason I gave up on Marvel comics. I hated his drawings. Good to know that there are some vocal nay-sayers out there. That's what the internet is for, you know. That and porn. And Hyppo bashing.

OK, let's just chalk up another one for your general crappy language skills.

Stating the obvious...that's something you've learned from Kevin, right?

Why, yes ... yes, I am! :)

And this time, I'm bookmarking the damn thing!

(Man, that's good stuff ... especially about how RL can't draw feet. Priceless)

For me, the best parts of the Rob Liefeld deconstruction page comes when they point out his fetishes, such as dance gloves, those 101 pouches and the "GIGANTIC AREA" :)

The critique of Liefeld's art would perfect but for one missing piece of Liefeld trash. Even more damning than Rob Liefeld's talent for fucking up feet is his lack of skill...

...with teeth (no relation to NIN)

That was hilarious.

I laughed for about five minutes about the Spiderman with the "hindquarters of a dog".

Thanks for posting that site. I've hated that guy longer than kja and hoped he'd finally run his course. When I was in high school I couldn't ever figure out why kids my age liked him so much. That Levi's commercial really pissed me off.

My brother said the same thing! He also thought the chest configuration looked like Optimus Prime's chest, since then my private name for the sketch was "Gandalftimus Prime".

In actuality it's just a random Freman. The beard was a late choice, originally he was clean shaven, then I thought "WTF sort of Freman would really waste time shaving"? Sure there have to be some (for the practical purpose of character identification at least), but realistically it'd probably be a rarity.

I'm going to tweek it with some color later, I'm thinking night, with a lot of blues and some serious stars in the sky. Dune would probably have an outstanding night time view, considering the lack of clouds and citys.

Sometimes license is acceptable - it'd be hard to show off the sweet stillsuit if his neck was shorter, given the beard.

Not at all. We're always interested in fresh meat.

So this is what...Old SPAWN of Dune?

(That's the mask for his mouth there in front of his beard, right, and not some kind of stylized penis? )

Seriously, though, I think I like this one even more than the one with the guy in the dark holding up the light. I might even like it more than anything else you've done yet (that we've seen).

So again: Stick with what you're good at. ;)

I like both of those Simon, the navigator is pretty close to what I imagine, but I would expect much more "randomized" deformities since the navigators aren't really evolving forwards into a niche (no selection for webbed hands and sof forth, those would be a random mutation likely). Basically, what you have already - but uglier and less healthy looking.

Wait, the resembalance to Gandalf is supposed to mean something!

It's supposed to repersent the similair "epicness" of DUNE and THE SHIT BOOK. Isn't it?

I can see it now: A huge wikipedia article devoted to it, with scholars and professrs argueing over its symbolsim!

Yeah, that night idea sounds pretty good to me. DO IT!

Stillsuit looks too much like Star Wars stormtrooper armor.
Try again.

Somehow I thought that was Simon's attempt at SandRider. My bad.

I enjoyed the drawing though!

True, but SandRider requested one with his beard and I'm pretty sure that Simon's latest has a beard of epic proportions.

Revelation: That's Gandalf the Sandrider (aka rider of worms)... wait for it...

I don't have a two-foot neck.
