The heighliner looks a little like the ship from Niven's Building Harlequin's Moon. Image

That book was okay, little dry for me, but well put together.

Is it worth reading? I'm going through all the science-fiction classics and otherwise good stories I can come across, so once I'm doing with my current list it'd be nice to have something else to start on.

It's not really a Niven book, he just helped polish it from what I understand (but of course they put his name first and biggest...), not sure if that helps you. It's worth reading, but obviously there are much better things to read if you're pressed for time. If you're into ultra-hard SF it was pretty interesting from that point of view.

Same here. It really takes a good artist to pull off the atmosphere black and white can do, and Dune is just esoteric enough that they go well together.

Thanks again and I'm realy happy you like it, I show you now, not an illustration but a character design, still in progress of Paul Atreide when he's Emperor, I'm preparing that character for a future illustration.

I like your style a lot. It's very distinctive, and suits the subject matter.

Paul looks pretty grim. Prescience got him down?

I'm curious about the key ring (?). Any symbolism or purpose behind them?

Yeah, thought so too. I think it fits better if you imagine him on his way to Leto II's birth-bed, knowing what he will be told...

its still in progress, there many things I need to had. Just to situate , i starting readint children of dune few days ago.

But for me this image of Paul, it's what I saw reading, when he start to say he want to go back to the deser, when he start to see chani death, when you see ( for me ) all of that it's starting to weigh to much.

That's why it still in progress to, I want to give him, that image, a strong person, with an huge statut, enormous power, but all that consume him.
