Next one's neat visually but the artist obviously hasn't even read the book, seing as he thinks Paul was in the BJihad

Yeah i saw this one on DeviantART last fall, the creator said only digital means were used, it's very impressive!Tyrant wrote:i would love to have that painting..its pretty damn awesomeGamePlayer wrote:Hey, can we get people to fill this thread with all those cool pictures there we had in a similar thread on dunenovels? Nope it's a new one to me, are they meant to be Maker Hooks he's holding? I always thought they were a two handed tool, or is that a Lynchian slip.Tleilax Master B wrote:Anyone seen this one before?
Edit to add
It's a strangely drawn picture now I've looked at it again, this guy must have arms down to his knees.

New to me too.
Not two-handed, as you use 2 hooks to control a worm(heh, try slipping one out to adjust the course and your worm will kiss you bye bye if you don't have another in place ), but longish.
How else can you ride a worm standing up yet still have hooks stuck in it?
The Lynch version showed how it should be.
I also think they're long, at least like a broom.FH in Dune wrote:"Maybe they weren't helping us. Maybe they were just calling a worm."
"Why?"
An answer lay poised at the edge of his awareness, but refused to come. He had a vision in his mind of something to do with the telescoping barbed sticks in their packs--the "maker hooks."

In memory of Perach, who suffered and died needlessly.
I wish I could have been with you that one last time.

This looks anatomically correct to me. This is a picture by John Schoenherr, I think (the original Dune artist). I agree on the hooks though, I always pictured a long stick with a curved end.inhuien wrote: Edit to add

I had a DE PDF, but I must've deleted it. I never really read anything more than little peeks.
Also had something called The BG manual.

I'm only at 105 with this post, but you know what they say... it's quality, not quantity. :Porald wrote:I had a DE PDF, but I must've deleted it. I never really read anything more than little peeks.

You aren't thinking or really existing unless you're willing to risk even your own sanity in the judgment of your existence.
