User names?

Postby SandChigger » 03 Jun 2008 12:27

I see that someone has registered using "KJA".

You have to wonder about the motivations of someone who would come to this specific board and deliberately choose to use the initials of someone detested by almost everyone here.

If it's a joke, fine, I look forward to some mayhem! :D

If it's some misguided Preeq idiot, ditto.

I'm not even bothering to entertain the most entertaining possibility...that it could actually be the hack himself: why would he join here when he has never bothered to post on Dune Novels?

(I'm not suggesting restrictions on user names or anything...yet. If it's some wingnut fanboy out to fight the good fight for his hero, though....)
I have heard of only one mistake that doesn’t have an explanation for a careful reader...with an open mind. (And, no, I’m not going to tell you what it is!) —KJA

I don't like every writer's style; for instance, I have never been able to get through Ursula LeGuin, China Mieville, or Iain Banks, all of whom are critical darlings. —KJA

I...had written a bunch of Star Wars and X-Files books...that proved not just that I'm a hack, but that I could write in somebody else's universe... —KJA

Maybe he wants to read negative opinions of his books by visiting the lair of the "minority", otherwise known as the entire internet :)

Or perhaps he's got a public appearance coming up and wants to be "current" on the type of bad things people are saying. He'll be "up" on the current detractor lingo so he can update that bad joke he knows :)

But this board is open to the public, so he wouldn't have to join to do that. ;)

(Baraka Bryan...someone has already zapped your vandalism of KJA's page, and no doubt they'll get to BH's before I do. Cut it out! :P )

Edit: Ah, I see you saw it, too.

Enter prig mode: Well...some people take the idea of Wikipedia seriously. This board isn't a reliable source for citation there.

;)

Or, far more simply, it's the same guy who has the KJA screen name on your blog, Chig. Or the one named after BH, if it's not the same one(it is the same one for both, right?)
In memory of Perach, who suffered and died needlessly.

I wish I could have been with you that one last time.

I think it would be extremely poor taste, but that would be par for the course.

I'd love to read what he had to say though. He leave here a vegetable.

Well, more of a vegetable.

Well, that's what I'm hoping. :D

(Byron doesn't have an account on Wikipedia that I know of. Not that I've ever tried to find out whether he does or not...gee, I suck as a cyberstalker, huh? Anyway, that hasn't stopped him from bitching about it in the past. Wikipedia is one place where I believe that if you're not willing to help fix the problems, then you don't have a right to bitch about them. And if you bitch about it but still use it, you're a hypocrite.)

Freak: Yeah, that's how I know it's not really him: no balls.

(So the baldness isn't from too much testosterone...like in my case. :P )

It should be "ruining franchises", not just "franchises".

Why in the world would I suspect you, a known Preeq and KJA supporter?!

YOU, pretending to be KJA...why...that...that would be like...like...Scytale pretending to be The Prophet!

Sacrilege!!!! :x

Do you have any avatar? All I'm seeing is an empty square with an 'X' and User Avatar written in the corner.

Yeah, it's hosted on my website, so maybe it's not loading right for you. Nothing special or worth getting worked up for, but right-clicking & opening it in a new window or refreshing the page to get it into your browser's cache should clear up the problem.

I keep loosing it. :?

(not clearing cache or anything... just every so often it disappears again)

EDIT: I quite often have loading issues with your hosted images - a bit of right-clicking sorts it no prob... but it is a running theme.

All my images are files sitting on my server. It's easier to lob them there and hotlink than to jump through the hoops of uploading them to some hosting service like Photobucket or Flickr.

Sorry.
