Ummm... What happened???

So I see the board seems to be in working order again. Now that everyone's back from The Distant Realm or whatever the fuck that was, maybe someone can explain to me what happened?

I eventually tried joining up at T(A)U just to continue chatting with the internet crowd I prefer to run with, but there is something seriously wrong with the registration process on that site. You know how all registration forms these days have the test to see whether you're human or a bot? Well at first, TAU's test said something like "Please put check marks next to all the images that are kittens" which would have been fine, if there were any pictures there at all. Instead, what you see was just an array of checkboxes. So I emailed the administrator for help, as it suggested. I explained the problem, but never got a message back. So a couple weeks later, I check back and see that Jacurutu is still dead. Again, I check out TAU and go to the registration page. This time, the robot test is different. The instructions say to type in the code that appears in the image. And there is an image, but just guess what it's an image of. A fucking kitten! I even tried "cat" and "kitten" but to no avail. I emailed the admin again, and was once again ignored. I felt kind of pissed after that, like it was some kind of joke to keep new people from registering there.

Anyway I just checked again today and saw that we're up and running here. Nice to be back, but what the fuck was that all about?

If you had typed in http://www.jacurutu.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you could've been here the whole time. You've really been missing out! Winds of Dune tanked!

Wow. The whole kit'n'kaboodle went down for like, one day a while ago. The last few things, like a referral for jacurutu.com and the sign-on page to T(A)U were fixed last week.

Never got any of those messages. Sorry dude. That totally sucks.

Cast out of the Cast Out for want of a "www."

It was pretty recent. The hard drive choked and we had to buy a new one. An entire new machine actually.

...Dammit. Ah well, Life's been rather hectic lately anyway, and I haven't had much time for message-boarding. It's just that from time to time, I'd check back to see if it was up, but I never thought to try "www" in fact I didn't even know that adding "www" wouldn't have worked before. Usually this is the kind of thing that calls for a mass-email out to all members.. :P

Oh, I saw. I love the effort, but I'm quickly learning that trying to sway people away from their conditioning is nearly impossible.

Everyone who wants to be on a mass e-mail list in case of board failures that prevent me from using the mass e-mail feature either send me your address now by PM or update you e-mail contact in your profile. Ill set something up to deal with that contingency this weekend.
