The one other board I visit that allows for YT embeds seems to load just as fast as Jacurutu or any other site. Not very scientific, I know, but it's all I gots ...
YT embedding would be cool, methinks.

It'll slow the page loads the same way an image does. Once the initial image in the youtube video loads the video stops loading until you click play.
