A few months back I purchased a new monitor and my screen resolution jumped from a 1280 x 1024 resolution to 1920 x 1200. I've had a really hard time finding new wallpapers...that I like that is. Now my vast collection of wallpapers are all useless, even the many 1600 x 1200 wallpapers I kept on my HD anticipating my next, larger monitor. Damn technology for leaping ahead! :)

Silly rabbit, cropping isn't for big, wide-screen monitors :P

LOL :)

Well there is an upside; with increasing affordability and popularity of the large wide-screen monitors (especially the 1920 x 1080 and 1920 x 1,200 resolutions), it will become the display res of choice for everything now :)

I purchased a Samsung T240HD 24" LCD monitor. It's not the best monitor, but it is my first LCD and it works as both television and monitor. I love it. It's saved so much space on my desktop and allowed me to get rid of my old CRT monitor and old television.

I think that's the one my mate has, a sweet panel that I've an envy of for a wee while only having a 20"er myself.

How are finding game play at native res or can your vidcard handle the HUGE resolution? Now that you've ditched your old TV you'll notice DVD playback looking like horseshit, you need to get an app with up-scaling, try a trail version of Corels WinDVD, I've heard the newest PowerDVD up-scales but I've never used it so I can't recommend it. Also for a free solution you could look at VideoLAN's VLC, it's got a lot of deinterlacing features that may also be cool for you, ver 1 has at last gone beta(so I've head).

My computer can't handle gaming in native resolution of my uber-monitor. A new computer is coming later this year.
Yes, DVD has revealed all to me with this new monitor. It's not so bad because I have a progressive scan player, so things look smooth. But they also look low-resolution and fuzzy because of the limitations of DVD. But a Blu-Ray player is on the way later this year as well :)

Aha, I assumed that you'd be playing DVDs through your baseunit rather than a stand alone player. If you can give that WinDVD a trail I would. I've seen it running on a panel just like yours and the results were very impessive.

The pair I have on in the avatar are the 57mm, which they are also available in. I think they're too big and plan to get a pair of 52mm.
I got a pair of the small, gold ones at the surplus store. 8-)
