Hello

I'm the website admin of the "Dune à Rakis" French community.

Right now I am try to complete a French short story about the arrival of Pardot Kynes on Arrakis.

TITLE : DUNE : The birth of a dream
SUMMARY : You think you know everything about Dune, the first novel of the saga, but there are still some mysteries to clarify : How a planetologist appointed by the Emperor could survive of is first encounter in the desert with the Fremens ? How this man totally obsessed with his scientific theories, has he been able to find the right words to convince the most dangerous and unpredictable mens in the known universe ? How does he have to give birth in the heart of an entire people a dream big enough to lead a project for 500 years ? Follow, in this short story Pardot Kynes during his first trip in the desert of Arrakis face to face with the assassin who must shoot him. And find credible answers to many questions that Frank Herbert left open ...

This is a Christmas gift for our community :D

A quote that speaks of the workings of the administration. Without a doubt
Or hell according to Dante. It's almost the same thing. :)

Chapterhouse... is one of my favorite.

Yep. I think the last two books are highly underrated.

Misquoted. The 1814 translation into English by the Reverend H. F. Cary says : « All hope abandon ye who enter here »
No hope for the Preeks.

The ghola Miles Teg in CH:D says "Abandon all sanity, ye who enter here."

That's what I was quoting.

I wasn't quoting you or Miles Teg. It was a reply to the libertarian gloss concerning (our) administration.

You really have no idea what's going on here, do you?

We often misinterpret the original meaning of the quotes we quote Li Borone, don't you think ?

The quote of the day :

[col]
        • “What do you despise? By this you are truly known.”
― from Manual of Muad'Dib by the Princess Irulan
|[/col]
