    Hi, I'm georgiedenbro.

I'm 34 and I've been a dune fan since I was 15, when picking up the first book caused my vacation in Maine to vanish and I found myself in an entirely different place for a few days. It's the first book I've read where I couldn't do anything (almost not even eating) until the book was finished. I've read the entire series around 3 times, and need to begin again, I think.

I have a degree in philosophy and in music, went on to become a working actor, and I'm now working as a jeweller for the time being as a day job. Most of my spare time is spent either reading, writing, thinking, or in the arts.

I've read a few threads on this forum and I'm very impressed with the knowledge of the series that you have. This is one of the few written works I've encountered where even assessing what the basic facts of the story are can be painstaking, and I'm happy to see that a lot of work has been done on that. I have a lot of comments and interpretations I've written down about Dune, and after reading the threads made so far I'll see if I can't perhaps bring something new to talk about.

So yes - I'm off to begin reading every thread on this forum before making any comments of my own. Hopefully getting up to speed with the knowledge presented so far can help me to contribute.

Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

Welcome to the site. Please ignore my angry ranting in those posts you are about to read. I promise you there are gems in the threads.

Don't be afraid to revive an old topic, either. We like it when you do that. 8)

    Hiya,

I'm still fairly new to this board as well.

Always great to meet another fan.

    Cheers.

    Twice Welcome
I don't think the author should make the reader do that much work - Kevin J. Anderson
We think we've updated 'Dune' for a modern readership without dumbing it down.- Brian Herbert
There’s an unwritten compact between you and the reader. If someone enters a bookstore and sets down hard earned money(energy) for your book, you owe that person some entertainment and as much more as you can give. - Frank Herbert
