Unclarity abounds.
DUNE DISCUSSION FORUM FOR ORTHODOX HERBERTARIANS

Buh-bye, hon. Seriousry. You da Jurie Wong dese guys get all prissed off at on Amarzon?juliew9855 wrote:dar.tar wrote:Hi! First of all, it's ridicilous that it's taken me this long to finally join. I have, of course, read all the dune books, most of Frank Herbert's other works, and a couple of those travesties that dare speak his name. I've actually read about half the dune encyclopedia, too. A couple of years ago, I started a facebook group(http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=18750509096 ) in a fit of impotent rage after despairing of finding anyone who shared my desire to abduct Brian Herbert and KJA and do really awful things to them. I can get really creative with these things, but mostly they involve Fremen curses, going over a long list of inconsistencies in their various books, and also an in depth comparison of elementary school writing samples and excerpts from the prequels. But don't need to tell you this. You know. Which is nice.
I've never really known anyone who was into Dune. A few friends have read the first book, and a couple even got to God Emperor and gave up. Which I think happens a lot. But come on people! Anyway, you get it. As an artist, sci fi is generally disparaged among my peers, and as a bartender, it's pretty well understood that, while the concept of being a nerd may be socially acceptable, the reality of someone who makes jokes about Shaitan is pretty damn weird. So I contain myself. And in public, I will continue to do so.
Okay, so I went a little bit on a tangent. So to summerize:
Dune=GOOD
F.Herbert=brilliant
B.Herbert=uuuugh
KJA=satansatansatanuntalentedsatan
Prequels, etc: REALLY?! KILLER ROBOTS?! Badly written, badly conceived
Me=kind of an enthusiast
Okay! Well, I'm going to peruse the forums a bit more. Loving it so far. And hoping this was what I was supposed to do, since there are under 400 members. So I'll see you kids around.
Such a very amazing link!
Thanks you for the post.
This one, mentioned at the beginning of this thread:SandChigger wrote:Which one?
If there are others, by all means do suggest themSandChigger wrote:Oh. That one's kinda sleepy.
not a bad idea, if you're worried about security... I only now feel confident that I can log back into the FB thing, after my system got violated via FB. Now I have a single comp that accesses potentially damaging sites - I isolate all my important data on my local network, that has no physical (or wireless) connection to the Internet. Unless I'm at work, of course Is security your concern? or just had enough of FB in general? lolFreakzilla wrote:I think I'm going to stay off FB for a while.

No, I just tend to say things I'll regret when sober.
hmmm... that's too bad! If it makes you feel sad, then you should get a tissue, or two. Everything will be alright, though... I'm sure that the revival of the aforesaid threads will be a momentary thing, and you can go back to the peace and tranquility you enjoyed before the disruptions took place. And don't forget that there would be a pattern to the randomness, if you can see it. If not, there are glasses for that kind of thing. LOL - well I hope you appreciate the thought I put into my reply no worries (the pattern to the randomness was me finding the threads I had not responded to since my last bunch of posts and posting greetings - my apology that it took months - I've been keeping busy offline)Baraka Bryan wrote:probably doesn't matter anyways I was just being tongue-in-cheek with my comments either waygrandmastercrafter wrote:? to me or Baraka?Freakzilla wrote:
