I'm 36, I'm married and have four children and I design commercial fire alarm systems.

I started this forum in the hope that Frank Herbert's Dune fans will have a place to openly discuss his work without censorship.

I feel like I'm on the "evil mirror" Dune board!
(I'm guessing this is a general issues type board lay out?)

I like the name, very tounge in cheek

Actually, for some its the truth.

The "evil mirror" is the other place.

It takes more than a last name and some legalese to make Dune. And more than hot-air claims to prove you're a Dune fan.

Selah.

I'm not sure I understand that question.

Oh I meant the layout look, as it's exactly the same as the Dunenovels board before the slight upgrade from this look to the "space" backdrop.
I figured you didn't go to far out of your way to make this board look "just" like Dunenovels, so it must be the sort of thing anyone could start up featureing what ever topics they choose...

This is likely one of the default setups for the board software. I see it all over the internet.

Says the bad man in the "evil" Kirk go-tee!!

I'll have to agree with you on the hot air/ fans thing. I'm always let down when other folks who claim to be big fans and try to engage you guys in a debate and scamper off because of your precieved aggression.

I stress precieved, I know you guys aren't hatefully trying to run anyone off, you just feel strongly about your views and those who wish to tussle with you aren't quite prepared for the "classic" fervor

Me personally, I like what I like, you like what you like and thats good enough for me.

That's what I meant, I figured it was something like that.

This is the only one it comes with.

That probably explains why it's so popular. If the software came with a big bundle of forum skins, you wouldn't see this theme quite so much :)

There must be other themes available for download...somewhere.

I'll be changing the theme soon to something more worthy of our name.

I haven't worn a goatee in years! Mwa-ha-ha!

I wasn't referring to general fans there, but to the "world's biggest Dune fans"...you know, the one lives in Seattle and the other in BFE Colorado.

I don't care if people like something I don't. It's when they try to tell me it's just as good as something else that there'll be...discussion. ;)

Right On!.

But ... is this the Bizarro World of the other place?

No, this is the Real World.

The other place is the "Biz-R-us" world:

Herbert Lactic Products: We're ALL About the Milking!

Moo?

I thought that one looked a bit young to be (a) Freak

I can already imagine the posts around here:
Ompahlos: "Hey, the new Freak has arrived."
Simon: "But what ever happened to the previous one?"
SandChigger: "He has already spent the time he had on this board."
