I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. SandRider did not mention any such custom in his invitation he kindly sent to me :)

Drinking Age is 21 in the US. Of course, I'm sure Fremen drink at a much earlier age...

No kidding eh? Old enough to help decide who governs a country and to kill and die, but not to have a beer... makes no sense to me either. We have a bunch of provinces up here that have a legal drinking age of 19 instead of 18, not really sure why they stick with that.

historical anomaly - voting age was 21, draft age 18 - obviously immoral to send citizens into a war
they had no say in - the obvious answer to raise the draft age to 21 was impractical given the
unpopularity of the war - so they lowered the voting age and told the students to shut the fuck
up (again) ....drinking age was also lowered to 18 almost everywhere, until the advent of Mothers
Against Drunk Driving, which lobbied to raise the drinking age and won .... I don't care about the legal
drinking age, kids are gonna drink and do drugs, this is America, damnit - but I want the voting age
raised to about 25 ....

Hey now! It's not as if I would ever vote for anyone who would when since I always vote for those who of neither party's affliation, but my gen is not as dumb as...well, never mind, you are right. They are dumber than a bag of hammers.

It's easy SR, RMQ says just because she's younger than 25 doesn't mean she would make the mistake that others of her age might make. She doesn't vote party politics. She normally votes for other affliations...then she started to say something about her Gen but then basically agreed w/you that most younguns are idiots....

Is that about right RMQ?

It was probably the "anyone who would when since" that derailed him. :)

so you had the opportunity to vote for Obama last year and didn't ?

that's okay, in the far future, you can lie and say you cast your first presidential ballot for him -
same way I say I voted McGovern -

Dude, I missed the election by 28 days, my birthday is Nov 30. And Obama, no, no, no no, no, no, no. When Obamarama commenced, I was the only kid in my highschool class who wasn't jumping around like an idiot.
And as an objectivist, I just sigh and hate my state for not having enough of us to put a candidate on the ballot.
