Planet Schmanet Janet
Frank: I'll tell you once; I won't tell you twice.
You'd better wise up, Janet Weiss.
You apple pie don't taste too nice.
You'd better wise up, Janet Weiss.

I've laid the seed; it should be all you need.
You're as sensual as a pencil;
wound up like an E or first string.
When we made it, did you hear a bell ring?

Ya gotta block? Well, take my advice.
You better wise up, Janet Weiss.
The transducer will seduce ya.

Janet: My feet! I can't move my feet!

Dr. Scott: My wheels! My God, I can't move my wheels!

Brad: It's as if we're glued to the spot!

Frank: You are!
So quake with fear, you tiny fools!

Janet: We're trapped!

Frank: It's something you'll get used to
A mental mind fuck can be nice.

Dr. Scott: You won't find Earth people quite the easy mark you imagine.
This sonic transducer... it is I suppose, some kind of audio-vibratory physio-molecular transport device?

Brad: You mean...

Dr. Scott: Yes, Brad, it's something we ourselves have been working on for quite some time.
But it seems our friend here has found a means of perfecting it.
A device which is capable of breaking down solid matter and then projecting it through space and, who knows, perhaps even time itself.

Janet: You mean he's going to send us to another planet?

Frank: Planet, schmanet, Janet!
You'd better wise up, Janet Weiss.
You'd better wise up, build your thighs up,
You'd better wise up...

Narrator: And then she cried out...

Janet: Stop!

Is this the RolePlaying game or something different? I just ran across this link on the web. Might be old news dont know. Interesting idea all the way around.

This isn't mine, but it sounds like the same basic concept (the idea of a generic system and Dune as an add-on, not the actual game system, which is different from mine.)

I think everyone and their mum made their own system at some point, especially when the industry sort of crashed with the rise of collectible card games in the nineties.

Neat link, though, and worth looking over. I've been able to get my hands on .pdfs of the Chronicles of the Imperium RPG and the old GURPS: Dune home rules thanks to the internet, and they're worth having just as collectibles if you're into gaming at all.

Anyone ever played a game called Jihad, in the Burning Wheel background? An RPG that is very heavily influenced by Dune. My brother has it. I have not played it but I read the rules the other day. It was pretty much Dune, and according to Ragabash it plays really well:

TWERPS and GUPRS and _ _ RPS (RPS stands for Role Playing System) were all gaming systems that different ideas could be put on top of. I played a bunch of games back in the day that used the same identical system for decision making. You could make a tank game, or a dungeon game, or a WWI flying game, or whatever, and just use these rules to run it.
