Why is the queen of Star Wars childrens' fiction the admin for the official Dune website?! You's think she'd be too busy with chemical peels, and helping KJA with the changing of Brian's diapers...
She undoubtedly wears the pants in the family. This could explain Kevin's massive inferiority-superiority complex and his low self-esteem.
His low self-esteem stems from his tiny cock and the fact that, deep down, he KNOWS he is a talentless twat who is taking his special needs victims fans for a ride.

14 Sept 2003 : My only other book-signing tour remotely as exhaustive was for the comedy thriller AI! PEDRITO! -- 27 cities in 28 days -- in 1995. At one point, in Hollywood, at an event with bands and free banana splits, I set the Guinness World Record for the "largest single-author book signing in history."

^^^ Lawl!

And he mentions that "record" signing all the goddamn time! I must have read that 3,000 times by now. Hey, maybe I've set a record!

Seriously, the man's desperation to be cool, accepted, appreciated, and just downlight loved is nothing short of pathetic.

i think the only possible way they could ever have been spending that much on the site is if that figure included wages for administration.

interesting that it is hosted in toronto...is it possible to use that IP address to... access certain things?
Toronto? Isn't Web Druid from there - or if not him, one of those on KJA's MySpace blog that SO wanna be one of KJA's buttchicks?

Am I mistaken, or that the music from the CoD mini? It sounds similar at least.

part of it is the same and then it gets changed towards the end...

i just checked IMDB and it doesn't list him (brian tyler) as the composer for the 2009 movie... might just be out of date
COD mini music is used in every trailer ever.

Haven't watched it yet. I'm holding off until I can watch it with a friend of mine, as we are both notorious Trek bashers who only have a fondness for the original series :)

So far, I'm tickled by the fact this new movie is old school Trek, but very skeptical of the cast, set design and especially the overrated director.

Sandworms of Dune Blog >> 01 April 2007 >> excerpts

For the past five days, Brian Herbert and I have been alone in his house.....We'd go out to dinner or take a hike....We needed time to decompress....The first night we rented two movies neither of us had seen, THE CHILDREN OF MEN based on a PD James science fiction novel, and then the new Nicholas Cage remake of THE WICKER MAN. Neither one was particularly enjoyable.....Next night, we decided to try for movies we knew were good. Brian, a fan of old classic movies, wanted me to watch the original noir thriller THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE, and I convinced Brian to watch THE INCREDIBLES. We both enjoyed each other's pick.....Today we went down to the harbor for lunch....Now that we feel gratified and satisfied, pleased with ourselves, we're ready to watch a few more movies-- LIFE OF BRIAN (my pick; Brian's never seen it), the original LADYKILLERS (Brian's pick; I've never seen it), and the new Bond, CASINO ROYALE (neither of us has seen it).

from the McNelly Interview // 03 Feb 1969

FH: Very slow pace, increasing all the way through, and when you get to the ending of it, I chopped it at a non breaking point, so that the person reading the story skids out of the story, trailing bits of it with him. On this I know I was successful, because people come to me and say they want more and…

WM: I have said this to my classes that, in many ways as satisfying as “Dune” is, I find it unsatisfying because there are so many unanswered questions; you don’t tie up the loose ends of, say, Paul’s sister, unless you read…what is it?.. a “Huntress of a Thousand Worlds” (Laughter)…that marvellous little…little footnote of Princess Alia. But… or several other things. The whole question of the Spacing Guild itself and how it got to be the way it was is handled very…you know…

FH: Well, let’s…let’s examine something, as far as fiction in general is concerned…

WM: All right.

FH: Now there are other reasons why stories are remembered, and I’m talking about story in the classic sense of the knights who goes from castle to castle to earn his meal.

WM: All right.

FH: Entertainment…

WM: Sure.

FH: The stories that are remembered are the ones that strike sparks from your mind, one way or another. It’s like a grinding wheel. They touch you and sparks fly.

WM: Would this be something like the Miller’s tale of Chaucer or Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, if you please?

FH: Yes, indeed.

WM: Or, well, we could adduce thousands of other examples up to, say, Treasure Island or what you will. There’s sparks there.

FH: OK.

WM: I understand your term.

FH: Now we all have stories that we go on with after we finish reading them. As children, we can remember playing Treasure Island…

WM: Or playing Tom Sawyer…

FH: Or Tom Sawyer…any of these. We remember playing these. The story stayed with us…the characters and their conflicts, their joys, their play all stayed with us.

WM: And it enkindled sparks in our own imagination, so that we were then active in creative play.

FH: That’s exactly right! We went on and told the story ourself…

WM: Yes.

FH: Now, I deliberately did this in “Dune” for that purpose. I want the person to go on and construct for himself all of these marvellous flights of fantasy and imagination. I want him to…you see, you haven’t had the Spacing Guild explained completely…just enough so that you know its existence. Now with lots of people, they’ve got to complete this.

WM: Yes.

FH: So they build it up in their own minds. Now this is right out of the story, though, you see…

WM: Yes.

FH: The sparks have flown.
