You might need to explain that, also...

Expand that to 400 pages of young adult adventure toss and you have Leto of Dune - bet you 20p. Coming soon to the WordFire Press...
Wow, you captured the feel of their "writing" perfectly! Are you sure you're not the secret 3rd author of these novels? In any case, you should write the sequel: "Revenge of the Duncans".

The thing I find funny about this, ever since SC got me Freakbanned from DN, nothing you people can imagine will be as bad as what KJA actually comes up with.

This whole tragic episode has at least been entertaining in that way.

I honestly die a little inside at the thought of KJA writing Leto II. Some silly part of me kind of thought it woudnt ever come to fruition. Obviously there is no justice in this universe.

Cover to "Shitterhood" has been changed - if anything it now looks worse than it did before  Keith also admitting that it was the same woman as on "Winds," like we hadn't already worked that one out
Keith wrote:We are pleased to unveil Tor’s revised cover for SISTERHOOD OF DUNE. This shows a female Fremen commando on a spice raid, not a member of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood. In the previous painting, she was holding a gigantic bazooka-like gun, which we didn’t like. Now she has a crysknife to make it more apparent that she’s a Fremen. Also, her face and hair were very similar to another cover the same artist had painted, and so that has been changed as well.

what about the eyes of the Ibad you moron ?

Just having to read the painstaking to make it more apparent that hurts !

If you did your job properly you WOULDN'T NEED TO MAKE IT MORE APPARENT !!!

As opposed to the most recent offerings which give us not mystery, but T&A

Well first off that giant face on Messiah I don't think is a woman, it's supposed to be Muad'dib I think.

And the "giant egg thing" is the no-ship.

I'm still going with "old woman" after looking at my paperback cover
Imagefunny, that Monument Valley seems to have found its way to Arrakis.Image

I'm aware. I was just trying to give an idea of what one's first impressions would be without knowing the books. The Putnam covers especially seem to speak to your mind, while the most recent TOR covers are trying to talk to your loins.

Ah, didn't know you were aware about the no-ship.

If it is an old woman (it honestly looks like it could easily be an old man or woman to me), I wonder who it would be then. It is Dune Messiah after all. Not saying you're wrong, I just can't think of who it would be if not Paul (an oddly old Paul, but cover artists are known to take their liberties...).

It's the mummified head of Kyle McLaughlin.

I suppose its supposed to be the shrine to Leto. But it does look like an old woman.

I always thought that was supposed to be the shrine, and it's also a comment on what ends up happening to Paul.

That cover is in the style of a cheesy romance novel. Why the fuck is Barbie in the desert? If they stuck Fabio in there, he'd fit right in. Awful.

Its scary how that would fit right in with the Romance novel covers, you could walk right past it and never notice.

Perhaps Sisterhood is a SyFy x Romance novel. Gotta cash in on the Twighards right?

He actually mentioned the Twilight fans at Dragon Con a couple years back.

The DM paperback cover is probably Paul, who else would it be? It's one of my favorite covers visually, but it looks like Paul as the Preacher, i.e old, weathered, no eyes, which doesn't make sense, since any monuments to Muad'Dib on Arrakis would probably feature Paul as young, good-looking, powerful, etc.

As for the first edition covers, I love them, with the exception of GEoD, which is pretty plain, not to mention Leto II looks like, well, a piece of shit. The other five books all have a variety of great covers, but I have yet to see a GEoD one that really captures what the book is really like.

And yeah, the Sisterhood cover sucks ass.
